Q. What is the per player team fee?
A. $1295.00
Q. What does the player team fee include?
A. All participation fees for league and tournament play • Field rentals and umpire fees• Winter training facility rental• Training and Clinics given by professional coaches from the Florida Marlins minor league organization as well as the Gary Railcats• Professional Customized uniforms including playing jerseys (2 shirt combinations) • 2 pairs of durable playing pants (with belt-loops)• 2 customized hats, belts, socks• Customized bat bag • 1 Playbook (available on-line).
Q. When are payments due?
A. Once a player is asked to participate with the 2012 NW Indiana Shockers the player fee broken down into payments.
The player will be required to pay a “commitment” of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) to reserve the player’s spot for the season. (Note: The “commitment fee” shall be deducted from the total player fee due. This deposit is non-refundable)
After the initial deposit is paid, the balance of the player’s fees can be paid immediately. NW Indiana Shockers will also allow the fees to be paid in SIX equal monthly installments: The 1st installment of $200 will be due September 30, 2012 and the final installment is due on February 28, 2012.
Q. What kind of fund raising do you have planned?
A. The 2012 Northwest Indiana Shockers will have multiple fundraisers to help offset costs. Each family will have the option to fundraise and all money collected will stay with that family. The goal of our fundraising is that each family will raise enough money to cover the entire cost to participate.
Q. Can a child get personal sponsors?
A. Yes. Each child will have his own personal account that he can pay into towards his team fee.
Q. Are they any potential unknown costs?
A. If the team and families decide to play other tournaments there could be additional costs. This would be a team and family decision. There is a $4 entrance fee for adults for tournament games only at Ho Chunk. Children enter free. Non tournament games are free admission.

Great Lakes Youth Sports Events (GLYSE) is one of the premier youth baseball organizations in the country. GLYSE is dedicated to creating, promoting and managing quality youth baseball events and leagues. GLYSE operates tournaments at Ho Chunk Sports Complex in Lynwood, IL. starting in April and continuing through the fall.
All of our tournaments are sanctioned by several national organizations. The Northern Illinois Metro League (NIML) a CABA award winning league offers all levels of play for ages 9-18. Q. Where is our home field?
A. Ho Chunk Sports Complex in Lynwood, IL
Q. How many home games at Ho-chunk?
A. 15 guaranteed home games, approximately 15 to 18 tournament games.
Q. When does the season start and end?
A. The season starts mid April and ends in September depending on the tournaments we select.
Q. What are the start times for week day games?
A. 5:45pm (no lights) and 8pm (under the lights.)
Q. How many teams in the league?
A. Approximately 16, up to 30.
Q. What division will be play in? Majors\AAA
A. Majors are considered an elite league. AAA – regular ranking . We will choose based on the level of play we feel our team can compete at.
Q.Total games?
A. Approximately 40-50
Q. How many players on team?
A. 12-13
Q. Guaranteed playing time?
A. Players are not guaranteed a set amount of playing time. We will make sure all kids play approximately the same amount of innings for each game and over the season.
Q. How often do we practice?
A. 1x a week during winter months
We will practice up till April.
Q. How long will we practice?
A. 1 ½ hr hours.
